A Paper Bag Princess

Recently, we were invited to a princess party – apparently a real live princess is going to be there. It seems like an appropriate occasion for my daughter to wear the princess dress that she got for Christmas. It’s all things princess around here, although lucky for us, the discussion of beauty hasn’t played into princess talk just yet. I think that it’s all about the big dresses for now. Robert Munsch’s The Paper Bag Princess is a classic tale of a fancy princess who has to use her wits after a dragon burns down her castle. She finds an … Continue reading

Here are some more tips for a green birthday party: Decorations The one good thing about our son’s birthday party at this bowling alley this year is it was in the party room, so most of the decorations have been used time and time again by the bowling alley. Unique Pumpkin Decorating Ideas

If you thought those Mr. Potato Head pumpkin decoration sets were a clever way to get out of gutting a gourd while still making it look festive, then you probably don’t have a neighbor who’s into making junk-o’-lanterns. There’s a home located next to the building where my daughter attends cooking class that is lined with pumpkins decorated with, well… junk. Dressing a Daughter’s Room

We had quite an adventure this past weekend. Now that Molly’s room is almost finished, we just need to address the windows, or should I say “dress” the windows. We also have a closet door to dress as well. Here is what we have been doing and where we found a way to make custom curtains when I don’t yet sew. Getting Molly’s room ready has been a long process that was frequently interrupted by other house projects that took priority, such as new flooring in the family room, felling trees in the yard, and fixing plumbing leaks. We can … Continue reading
